Anya: Her Love for Writing

1 March 201012 Comments

Here’s one thing, out of many, that I’d like share about my soon-to-be 6 years old girl:

she LOVES to write.

She loves to pen down her thoughts in writing.

I’ve been finding things around the house with her little notes on it, and it’s been heartwarming!

[I love her unintentional mis-spelled words and her kiddish handwriting]

Anyway.

Here’s one I recently found on her side of the dining table: her supposedly ‘going somewhere list’, hehe.

Let me ‘copy’ her notes again, word by word:

1. For going somewhere list

2. Bring bag

3. Bring many thingns

4. Bring something to Elisa
[Note: Elisa is a friend of hers]

5. Make sure you are full all over your bag
[Note: I asked Anya what she meant with this one, and she said she wanted to make sure that her bag is filled to the max! Haha. I love how she ended up with THAT sentence]

6. Bring the note book

7. Bring a pen or a pencel case

8. Do not forget to bring ereser

9. Bring toys for my Vai
[Note: I love how she referred to her brother as ‘my Vai’]

10. Also bring toys for myself

11. Do not be selfish
[Note: Love this self-reminder *smile*]

12. Do not forget to bring this peper
[Note: Haha, good point!]

I don’t know if she’d later become a book writer, a journalist, or even … a blogger.

What’s more important to me is that she learns to continually explore and develop her God-given talents and potentials.

Discovering things that she truly is passionate about. Sharing what she has with others.

The journey is still very long, and I’m just glad I can be a part of it.

And, I’m totally treasuring all these milestones.

My 5 yo daughter, Keiko, like to write words these days, with many mis-spelled words. It’s actually started end of last year when I had to leave her at home with her father. Her first letter was ‘I miss u mommy flora’ . Since then she cannot stop write simple letter – simple note with her drawing in it, especially when she really wanted to invite her grandparents to visit her in surabaya – to attend her 5th birthday…
I love to see and be part of her writing and reading skill. I love to be part of her life. And especially to know what God has done for her in her life. It is an amazing God we have!!

Iya interesting ya ngeliat development anak2 yg beda beda. Anya itu somehow sukaaa sama word play, sentences and scribbling dari kecil. Dulu pdhal gua mah kaga kaya gitu loh waktu seumuran Anya.

    Lisna:

Thank you … Ya, hope this ‘siblinghood’ grows well over time too …

(you know this thing about me and writing, … I wasn’t anything like her when I was Anya’s age. It’s interesting to see how one’s passion can develop at a ‘later age’ ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Leonny says:

    Grace Koay:

You did that too (till today!) when you were a little girl? Organised and detailed since young then ya ? ๐Ÿ™‚

You know, I totally wasn’t like Anya when I was her age! Really, I was more interested in climbing and doing all sorts of ‘motoric’ stuff haha … (and look where THAT interest gets to now that I have kids!)

  • Leonny says:

    SquiggleMum:

Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t wait either! (I do pray hard though that we’re given the needed wisdom to bring her up according to God’s bigger plan for her!)

  • Lisna says:

Oh.. she is a very sweet & caring little girl..love her care for his brother..she must have gotten the talent for writing from her mother (for sure ๐Ÿ™‚ )

  • Grace Koay says:

    does do!

    ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Grace Koay says:

    Love it!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

In some ways, this list reminds me of me! I have been writing lists since I was a wee little girl, probably 6 too, and still does until today.

    Love it!!

  • SquiggleMum says:

I just love this! Her list reveals so much about the girl she is… thoughtful, caring, self aware, loving, organised. Can’t wait to see the plans God has in store for her!!
