“Thanks” to today’s gadgets, more and more kids tend to say, “I don’t know what I’m good at. I don’t know what I like. I’m not interested in anything actually.” (But somehow they are interested …

Realities that Happen BEHIND Beautiful Photos Shared Online

3 April 2018 | Posted in: Daily, Inspirational, Parenting | No Comment

Too little can be known about a person through social media.

Too many UNTOLD stories behind one’s life.

Our 24 hours a day cannot possibly (and should not all) be shared with ‘everyone’.

Behind all smiley photos, successful events, fun travels, warm family gatherings, there are also moments of anger, impatience, exhaustion, sadness, failure.

They colour everyone’s day to day.

And, in the end, it comes down to our personal choice of ‘what’ we choose to share with others.

So, the question to self is:
What content do we choose to share online?

Behind all smiley photos, successful events, fun travels, warm family gatherings, there are also moments of anger, impatience, exhaustion, sadness, failurePersonally, I hope to make a positive impact through my existence online and offline.

To share life lessons learned, too, not because I’m great, but because I still have so much to learn and change.

About the photo:
Now this is a candid shot of an exhausted me with the kids on a bus ride after a day out with the family.

I seldom post photos like this – not ‘instagrammable’ they say, haha … but I thought I’d share it today anyway.

BECAUSE, it’s the reality:
I’m a mother, I cat-nap whenever it’s possible to charge my ‘batteries’ and seriously, no one poses for the camera if they truly are asleep, yes? 😊

And oh, I love the fact that Brie can still sit on my lap right now.

Just a little glimpse of a REAL motherhood moment that may not be portrayed often on Instagram, or Facebook.

Thoughts: Food vs Appetite

25 March 2018 | Posted in: Inspirational | No Comment

Many people assume that they’ll be happier if they have more money.

Not necessarily so.

A wealthy person sleeping on one super expensive mattress may find it very hard to sleep, while someone else, owning only one set of clothes, can enjoy his long afternoon nap on a paddy field.

Not everything can be bought with money.

Be thankful with what we have, be it a simple home, or simple meals on our table every day.

Seeing BEYOND Our Own Little World

25 March 2018 | Posted in: Inspirational | No Comment

Knowledge gained from books fills the head.

It’s good and necessary. BUT, if such gain is not complemented with guided exposure to different positive experiences, it will remain where it is.

In the head.

This is one of the reasons why we take our children to see people from different walks of life, different culture, nature, etc.

We all need to see BEYOND our own little world.

One of our our hopes and prayers for our kids is, that they slowly learn to observe the world, discern, walk the talk, and share with others, from the heart.

By God’s grace.

Things Kids Say: Brie on being Young and Old

24 March 2018 | Posted in: Daily | No Comment

Brie went with me to the immigration counter.

After the officer checked Brie’s passports, she said, ‘Lady!’ to ask me approach the counter.

Brie then asked, ‘Mommy, why did she call you Lady?’

‘Because I am a lady, a woman. She can call you Young Lady or Young Girl, too. How do you think she should call me, anyway?’

Brie paused.

And said, ‘Old woman’.

Hmm, okay.

Thanks 😏

(What happened afterwards was: I shook my head in disbelief, chuckled, told Wilson about it, and explained to Brie how the word ‘woman’ itself refers to adult female. She still insists that I’m OLD. Oh well … Mommies are old =D )

Wilson Turned 43!

Who would’ve thought that we would celebrate Wilson’s 43rd birthday in CHENGDU, China! With some of the Atmadja family members!

But then again, our family has seen and experienced how God has given to us blessings that we’ve never asked.

How we thank God for that.

Media Feature: Mother and Baby Indonesia Magazine

15 March 2018 | Posted in: In the Media | No Comment

This is a huge THROWBACK.

Because, I found this photo and realised how I haven’t shared about it on the blog! Hah.

Just in case you’re new on my blog, … my blog is my ‘online journal’, you see. Snippets of my life are ‘archived’ here for memories’ sake, AND … well,  just in case my hard drives get corrupted and I lose all photos stored inside! Which btw, have happened TWICE before (It just went kaput, dead!).

I lost tens and thousands of photos *BOO HOO*

Anyway.

I was THIRTY FIVE there (woot! Haha) and Brie was featured too in this article (somehow I can’t find the photo I took of the rest of the article). She was 7 weeks old when we had the photo shoot at Mother and Baby Indonesia’s studio.

Nice memories, and I hope the article was somewhat useful to the readers =)

‘Wah, makannya pinterrr!!’

Pernah denger? Kalau orang Indo, pasti pernah denger =)
