References: ‘Food and Drinks I WILL EAT when back in Hometown’

Each time I visit Jakarta, I must say I’d ALWAYS order fruit juices or sweet desserts whenever we go out and eat (where they’re available, of course)

And it could be anything. From orange juice, avocado juice, es campur to es teler.

You see, they’re just some of my ‘not-to-be-missed’ list of things to eat and drink whenever I’m back in my hometown.

Now.

Last month, I asked people on my Facebook to share THEIR list of food, drinks or snacks that they’d never miss when THEY visit their hometown.

And we got LOTS of yummy references!

So. I thought I should share the list here with everyone!

Well, you never know. The list may later be very useful to you the next time you plan on visiting these cities! Heh.

    Bandung:
    1. Sundanese food – Warung cepot (Jl. Pasirkaliki), kedai teteh (i heard that the quality has dropped, tho!) – i always eat the nasi timbel =p
    2. PADANG FOOD!!! – Simpang Raya at Jl Asia Africa – i always eat their rendang sapi with loads of sambel ijo ^^v rare find in Singapore.
    3. Seafood.. yummy yummy cheap seafood… – JL. Karapitan (cant remember the name, tho, sorry)
    4. Chinese resto – good ‘ol Queen restaurant =)
    5. Bakso malang – abang2 pinggir jalan gituw.. di terusan cipaganti.. they opened another branch at Hyper Square (pasir kaliki), but i think the street-side stall version taste better (u know what im talking about, right?! haha)
    6. Tahu tauhid – lembang, where u can buy the fresh fresh fresh tofu of ur choice.. (they even have PINK tofu which i seriously dont know how it’d taste =p).. my family usually just fry the tofu, tho.. coz it’s seriously really nice =) u cant get that kind of tofu in Singapore!
    7. Mie encek- Jl. Guntur and mie kocok (can’t remember the address 🙁 sorry)
    8. Batagor riri – Jl burangrang
    9. Kue surabi and Martabak Sanfransisco – (sebelahnya batagor riri hehe)
    10. Kupat tahu – Jl Putri
    11. Mie Rica – Jl Kejaksaan (u’ve got to try this one.. really!)
    12. Ayam goreng Indrawati

    As a catch-all rule, there’s this “food court” which gather the ‘best food of Bandung’ called Hyper Square.. it’s along pasir kaliki road, near Istana Plaza mall.. where u can really get everything and everything =)

    Cafe Batavia — the dimsum & fried rice are awesome
    BBQ Pork satay & salted veggie pork rib soup — Pecenongan
    Bakmie Ami — PIK
    Saung Greenville seafood — Greenville
    Kuetiaw Akang — Muara Karang
