leonny's everyday things

.16 months onwards.
And this is a our little record of how my first pregnancy days went for me.

    Week 5
Our first positive confirmation! (tried 3 home-test kits actually, just to be REALLY sure)
One of the hints: frequent trips to the loo!

    Week 8
One of Anya's first photos
Monthly trips to Dr W.K. Tan, our gynae at Thomson Medical Centre, started.
(Fyi, she's my grandma's and my sister's gynae too! She's in her 60's I think, but she's good, patient and friendly. I don't think she's accepting anymore new patients now though. The average waiting time before you get to see her is 2 - 3 hours! And this happens to all my scheduled appointments)

    Week 9
No morning sickness as yet.
So far so good!

    Week 16
Garlic, strong spices and smelly stuff ... can't stand them!
I could basically SMELL everything.
Traveled everywhere with a Tiger Balm to mask the smell of everything else!
No vomitting though. Just frequent gagging.

Week 19 (about 4 months pregnant)

    Week 22
Less gagging. But still couldn't stand strong smells. Hmm, other than my Tiger Balm of course *smile*

    Week 27
Living life as per normal, doing my usual activities during the day.
Wedding ring got a little too small by now.
My voice somehow started to get hoarse... (?)

    Week 31
The baby's head's now turned, head down! Yaay!
Start of my frequent trips to the loo at night

    Week 33
Backache started.
Slept with all sorts of pillows around me to support my back, my legs, and of course another one to support my tummy when I lay on my side.
Fortnightly trips to the gynae by now.
Aircon's on at night, but no blanket needed. The baby was my 'heater' now *smile*

    Week 35
Backache worsened.
And the fact that all seats (on the trains, buses and all other places) usually come with a 'hollow' back support just didn't help at all.
My voice was still kinda ... 'lost'

    Week 36
Weekly trips to my gynae now.
Finding a comfortable sleeping position at night got more and more difficult.
Started swimming once a week (an exercise which I probably should've started MUCH earlier!)

    Week 37
Gained 2kg in the past 2 weeks (and fyi, it's normal if your weight goes up faster than usual in the final few weeks).
And by the time I gave birth, I gained a total of 12.5kg.

Overall, I think my 38 weeks of pregnancy went pretty well. Other than the terrible backache and lost of voice (which strangely got back to normal after I gave birth!!), everything else was good I think, and I'm very thankful for that.
