Personalised Music CD : Enjoy 20% Discount!

Category : Kids & Kids, Review · 5 Comments »

In my previous post I wrote how I made a music video for Vai out of pure fun, and how I think this personalised music CD - where you can insert a specific kid’s name into the songs - makes such a great gift! Be it for birthdays, Christmas, the birth of newborn babies, etc. Kids (and especially their parents) will LOVE this gift, I reckon!

I love the fact that there are more than 1500 names to choose from too. From Eric, Toby to Shanice and Elissa … you name them!

And so, here’s something that I’ve worked out for Our Everyday Things readers!

From now till 31 December 2008, when you order two or more personalised music CDs from 75volts.com, you will enjoy 20% discount off their music CD price!

And here’s more info on the promotion:

- Click HERE to see the available Music CDs
[See if the name you have in mind is in their list! Btw, look for the 'pronunciation' of the name rather than the 'correct spelling' of the name you're looking for, and check out their music samples with your chosen name afterwards!]

- Minimum order : Two CDs

- To enjoy the 20% discount, you MUST type in the promotional code “OET08″ when you’re checking out. The words “Our Everyday Things Promo” will appear after the code is keyed in and activated

- Orders are made online and they accept and deliver internationally (delivery charges apply)

This promotion is completely for you guys to enjoy, ie. I don’t get anything out of it other than a really nice feeling from sharing something worthwhile with readers of this blog (and their friends and friends’ friends and so on).

Let me know what you think?

In the mean time, I’ll definitely be ordering one for Anya! I know hearing her own name in the songs will put a big smile on her face!

Fun with Polliwalks - the new animal clogs just for kids!

Category : Advertorial, Kids & Kids, Review · 3 Comments »

I just very recently found out about Polliwalks!

These shoes are designed and launched in the US just last year and they’re apparently SO adored by little kids.

Unlike the usual foam clogs we know, these ones are purposely designed like they’re toys for kids’ feet - they come in animal shapes : alligator, ladybug, duck and frog! The very first of its kind specially designed for kids (ie. no sizes available for adults!)

AND, it comes with ‘animal footprints’ at the bottom of each shoe! So when your kids walk in sand, mud or dirt, they’ll leave behind cute footprints!

Now, apparently these fresh new clogs just recently ‘entered’ Singapore some three months ago, AND when the people who bring them in approached me to see if Anya and Vai want to ‘test’ them out and I then share about it on my site, I thought “Cool! Let’s do this!”

I was curious to see how they’d respond to Polliwalks clogs, and so before we got them, I browsed through their official website and showed Anya and Vai the different styles and colours. Their first reaction was like ‘Oh Mommy LOOK, LOOK!’. Anya immediately liked the duck and the ladybug!

[Btw, to get a feel of their many different range and colours, click here]

And really, I’m not surprised if kids love these shoes.

They look so cute and fun. Like toys ready to be worn on their feet!

And so you can only imagine how excited the kids got when they finally put them on!

They even put their hands into them and went “Quack…quack!” and “Arwwk … Arwwwk!” to each other. Hehe.

I checked out the shoes too of course and hey, as a parent, I love the fact that they’re SO easy to scrub and clean (I just found out that you can even throw them into the washing machine! Will try that out!)

They’re light and easy to put on and take off (Vai, a 2yo, does it easily - and fast - all by himself)

The other day, we’re all in a taxi when I noticed them stretching out their legs and knocking their shoes against each other. And I was like, “What ARE you both doing?” and Anya said, ‘Mommy, the crocodile is trying to get to my duck!!’ Hehe.

Anyway, other than their official website, I recommend that you check out these sites below too, to find out what they are, their features and why they’re loved by many :

- “What are Polliwalks?” by LoveThoseShoes.com
- “Have you heard of Polliwalks?” (interview: husband and wife team who’re the brains behind the shoes) by PlayLibrary.com
- “Polliwalks Clogs” by Gruntlings.com

If you’d like to get them for your kids (or your nieces, nephews, friends’ kids, etc), right now they’re available for sale at the Zoo, BirdPark, a couple of OG outlets, and seven of Kiddy Palace’s stores! Retail Price: S$48.15 nett

And and and.

I can’t wait to say this : I have other SUPER GOOD NEWS on these cute Polliwalks shoes! I’ll share with you all very very soon!

*so excited*

Kuala Lumpur Trip : Places to visit

Category : Review, places to visit · No Comments »

I’ve mentioned how I’ll write a bit more about my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia … and so here it is.

>> Berjaya Times Square

Frankly, it does look pretty nice from the outside, BUT once we’re inside, we’re surprised to see how ‘empty’ the place is. Hardly any crowd. Nothing much was happening and there were many unoccupied ’shop lots’ (we’re there on Thursday, 12pm)

The main attraction I guess, is Cosmo’s World, their indoor theme park. There are two sections - one for the adult teenagers, the other for the younger kids. Quite a lot of teenagers were there enjoying the rides!

You pay to enter and you can basically stay and play till it’s closed.

Entrance fee:
Adults: RM30
Children: RM20

My review:
I’d go to Times Square again the next time I visit KL. But only to bring the kids to Cosmo’s World. And oh, do expect a pretty bad traffic jam around this area too.

>> Suria KLCC (pictured at the top)

Now THIS is the place to go if you’re looking for a shopping centre to visit (we were there on Friday, 12pm).

Lots of great shops. Huge crowd and lots of exhibitions. The place is so much more alive!

My review:
Will definitely visit the place again. Their food court is quite big but is really PACKED during lunch hours! So be prepared to queue for quite a while and share your table with LOTS of other diners.

>> Petronas Twin Towers

We wanted to visit the skybridge, BUT apparently they now have a QUOTA!

When we reached there (12.30pm), the staff said that they’ve given out all available (free) tickets for the morning session (and so lots of tourists went away feeling pretty unhappy).

Anyway, we went to see their exhibition area, just next to the ticket counter. Learned quite a bit about the towers and its history.

Saw a quick ‘lightning demo’ too (it automatically runs every 10 minutes and basically it shows how and why you won’t get ‘electrocuted’ if you happen to be on the tower during thunderstorms)

My review:
Though I personally find it a rather silly ticketing rule, do come ‘early’ if you’d like to visit the skybridge.
