It’s Been Two Weeks since We left Singapore

27 March 20126 Comments

Hi everyone!

Yes, I’m still around =)

I have so many stories, updates and photos to share, BUT errr, I’m still stuck without proper internet connection.

We’ve finally moved into our own place, you see, and it has NO internet connection. Well, not yet. Am waiting for it to be activated.

My ‘best’ connection to the online world is the internet access I have on my iphone, and err, it’s not that fast, and I sometimes don’t get any signals.

(Yes, I’m typing this post from my phone)

Well, it’s just one of those things that I know I need to get myself used to, now that we are living in Jakarta, ie. When it comes to speed and technology, things may not be as fast and efficient as what I have always been exposed to in Singapore.

Anyway.

I’d just like to quickly share that we are doing good and are managing things pretty much okay so far.

I am very happy about our recent trip to Lombok *super love Gili Trawangan*

I am glad our ‘shipped boxes’ have all safely arrived.

I am grateful that all three kids are well.

Brie, who is 10 months old now , is so much more active and mobile though, and I’m finding it hard to do much stuff when she’s not sleeping.

I plan to partially home-school Vai till he enters Primary 1 next year.

And, Anya is starting school next week! Which means I will need to be able to drive and face the ‘interestingly challenging’ streets of Jakarta by … THIS WEEK! (I will need to ‘jia yo’ myself haha)

I share photos daily on Facebook and Twitter, and you are welcome to add/follow me yeah.

And yes, I will write more, hopefully REAL soon.

(Can’t wait to post our Lombok trip’s photos too!)

Hope you all have a great week!

    Hello Leonny,

I’m a mother of 2 and I read yr blog from time to time whenever I’ve my free moments. My husband is considering moving our whole family to Jakarta as he thinking of moving part of his business there. Nothing is concrete as yet but he’s planning now. Needless to say it is both exciting and terrifying for me since I’m a true blue Singaporean. What’s yr advice for relocation and if u don’t mind could you share what makes you return to Jakarta? Thks 🙂

      Hi Lynda,

I shared my thoughts and considerations before we confirmed the decision to relocate to Jakarta in a post :
      http://www.oureverydaythings.com/2012/02/looking-back-at-the-year-2011-and-gearing-up-for-our-next-family-adventure/

As for my advice, … umm, I guess when the whole family is involved in the planning (including the kids), and when we ourselves are ‘ready’ for whatever that awaits us in a new place and environment, it’ll sure make the whole relocation and adjustment period a much easier phase … because in the end, there’re always pros and cons wherever we live, … but whether or not we want to focus on the good, it’s a choice we can try to make ?

Just drop me a message / comment if i can be of any other help yeah …

      Have a nice weekend, Lynda!
