Project Brick by Brick : Buy a ‘Shirt’, and Fund the Upgrading of Boys’ Town’s Facilities

22 February 20125 Comments

I don’t know about you, but my heart aches when I see children who don’t have a loving home. Children who perhaps are born in troubled families. Just like any other children, I’m sure deep down each of them long for acceptance, love and a community where they can belong and perhaps, call ‘home’.

With that in mind, I’d like to highlight to you a place called Boys’ Town today.

It’s a place where you’d find about 60 boys, aged 11 – 18, who mainly come from troubled, large or needy families. They stay at Boys’ Town’s dorms, where they’re counselled, and helped educationally and socially there.

Currently there’s a community/charity project called ‘Brick by Brick‘ that aims to raise funds (through the sale of locally designed tee-shirts and decals) to help these boys and to upgrade their existing facilities.

Four NTU students are behind this idea, and here’s what they shared with me:

“We aim to raise funds to help them in their endeavour to build a new dormitory for the boys under their care and also for the running of various programmes for the boys. Private, non-government organizations like The Boys’ Town are self-funded, and need our help to continue providing care and education for their charges.

Proceeds from the sale of items will go to our beneficiary, The Boys’ Town.”

So, feel free to browse their Brick by Brick website to find out more about the charity campaign.

And, to support the cause too, click HERE to order your shirts / decals yeah! =)

Have a great day, everyone!
