Perth Trip : Beach, beach, beach!

25 March 20097 Comments

If you plan to visit Perth and are ready to explore its beautiful beaches, here are three places I’d personally recommend!

We went to these places and we loved each and every one.

[Note: If you’re there in summer, be prepared to get a good sun tan because it IS warm and glary. Do bring along your sunnies, hats, sun block cream, etc. As for us, we’re out and about under the sun a lot during our trip there, which explains why we are a few shades darker now!]

Scarborough Beach

We were there at 5pm on a weekday. The weather was really good, but it was really windy.

We fell in love with the white sand beach. Vai kept sinking his toes deep into the sand before he found a good spot, sat down and played with his cars. His sister got herself busy collecting seashells (for our fish tank!)

There were quite a few activities going on at the beach. Some kind of group practices, I think.

Anyway, we loved this place. Breathtaking.

Sorrento Quay (Hillarys Boat Harbour)

Another favourite. Love the view, the boats, the big blue sky, the white sand beach.

Compared to the other two beaches, there are heaps of eating places and attractions for everyone at Hillarys Boat Harbour!

We were there at 12pm on a weekend. It was crowded, and VERY glary and warm. Once we’re under the shade, it’s cool and quite breezy though! Anyway, the kids had a great time playing in the sand, and we had yummy fish and chips for lunch with our friends.

Cottesloe Beach

Another beautiful beach we love.

Our trip coincided with their annual ‘Sculpture by the Sea‘ (5 – 24 March), where over 60 artists displayed their works of art along the beach! It was nice! A refreshing break for us all.

    Hi there!

Yes, I agree Perth is considerably ‘nearest’ to SG ๐Ÿ™‚ AND, if you happen to grab a promotion, I heard it can cost less than S$1000 for a family of four (return ticket)!

June and July is their winter period though. It’d be nice and ‘cool’, but you may get lots of rain too, which kinda limits your ‘going out and about’ huh? If you ask me, I’d personally choose March-April (autumn) or Sept-Oct (spring) ๐Ÿ™‚

As for accommodation, err … I can’t help much, sorry, coz I’ve always either stayed at my own place or my friends’.

Perhaps someone else can help and share more info ?

Uh oh .. you’re not coming to SG ? … perhaps next time then ya …

And hey, is your husband with photobookworldwide.com? Would love to check out the exhibition (since we do need to print out photobooks at times) but we really couldn’t make it this weekend ๐Ÿ™

Anyway … you have a great time in Malaysia ya !!

    Sandra :

Thanks Sandra! You mentioned how in Switzerland you don’t have beaches … I could only imagine how much you must’ve missed it!

hehe .. farm photos coming up soon!

I think the thing about staying over at a farm is we need to remember that it IS a farm hehe … and kids will enjoy their stay if we too enjoy it (or, if we at least get them excited about it too) ๐Ÿ™‚ We drove for 2hours plus to get to the farm, and yes, it WAS a farm ๐Ÿ™‚ still the chalet is pretty good. We enjoyed the break from ‘city life’…

  • I am still waiting for your farm stay picturess….=p

Such lovely photos Leonny!! Makes me crave for some beach action all of a sudden… Anyways, glad you had a lovely time in Perth. I’m now in Malaysia, but won’t be going down to Singapore as planned earlier on. My husband will be doing a wedding exhibition in Suntec Convention Centre this weekend, on the photobooks. So, if you or Wilson is interested, do go and say hello to Gary. The details on my blog ok?

    All the best!
