Feeling more chinese

Went to River Hong Bao. It was Wilson’s brother’s first ever visit there and we thought it’ll be nice for him to get a better feel of how chinese new year is celebrated here in Singapore.

We felt it’s not as ‘grand’ as the previous years, though. They’re on a tighter budget this year, perhaps …

Two things definitely remain unchanged though:

> ‘Gold’ paper bits still came out from the huge statue once in a while, and lots (and I mean, LOTS) of people stood below the statue to frantically race against one another and catch as much gold paper as possible. It symbolised the fortune they’d get for the new year, I think.

> The portable toilets still smelled really really bad. The desperate ones of course had no choice. (I’d personally rather hold the urge till I cry, rather than use it at all)
